Treatments

PRF or Platelet Rich Fibrin

This is the most current technology where your own body’s chemicals is utilised to repair damaged tissues or speed up healing, particularly in the jaw and where bone and gum are missing. This is achieved by utilising growth factors which are extracted from your own blood and concentrated into a gel like layer and inserted into the gums during disinfection to speed up healing and repair of gum and bone. The practice of this technology is cutting edge and is offered at the practice for suitable patients.

Having healthy gums is the cornerstone of maintaining your smile and keeping your teeth for daily eating. Imagine having to chew food like meat or crunchy nuts using only your gums. Life would be very different and your nutrition will be affected long term.

Gum disinfection or “Deep Cleaning”

Deep cleaning or Periodontal Treatment is best performed by a periodontist. This process of disinfecting the gums from bacteria, allows the body to maintain the thickness of gum and the supporting jaw bone. Without adequate gum and bone support, teeth become loose, and then painful and ultimately will require removal.

Surgical Periodontal Treatment

Surgery may be required to get deeper into the roots to remove bacteria. Having direct access visually is the most ideal way to treat any infection and this cannot be achieved with lasers or pinholes. If performed well, these procedures have minimal down time with patients often returning to a normal routine within 24 hours.

Regeneration

Employing the use of specialised proteins and grafts will allow the regeneration of lost bone and gum. In suitable situations, this will allow the rebuilding of missing bone and gum which will improve the longevity of teeth and gum attachment. This is another procedure that is considered in the comprehensive treatment of patients with gum disease.

Fees

Our philosophy is to be completely transparent about our fees and therefore at the point of your consultation, you will be presented with a treatment plan outlining the fees for your procedure. As every patient is different, fees will vary between patients and therefore it is difficult to give you a “quote over the phone”.

Fees for periodontal treatment will start from $470 per appointment and the number of appointments will depend on your complexity and your effort in reaching a stable level.

Fees are important to consider but it is important to not compromise on the quality of your care and outcome to save on costs. As a matter of priority, it is recommended that you find the right clinician to look after your needs and manage any potential complications.
